Dr. Herman Hoeksema, M.D.
Dr. Herman Hoeksema is a Board Certified orthopedic Surgeon who has been practicing in Muskegon since 1977. He is a graduate of Hope College in Holland, MI. He completed medical school at the University of Michigan and went on to complete his Surgical Residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals in Madison, WI prior to coming to Muskegon.
Dr. Hoeksema is in practice with Drs. A. Scott Lachniet, Martin Pallante and Stephen Fisher. He serves as team physician for Muskegon Community College and as a consultant to numerous area high schools. Along with Dr. Lachniet, Dr. Hoeksema was instrumental in bringing Sports Medicine to the Muskegon area. The original Hackley Sports Medicine Center was located adjacent to Dr. Hoeksema and Dr. LachnietÁs office and they were an integral part in developing a working relationship with local schools by providing Certified Athletic Trainer coverage for athletic events.
Dr. Hoeksema and his wife Joan are very active in the Muskegon area. He has participated in local running and bicycling events, and is an outdoor enthusiast. The greater Muskegon area is fortunate to have Dr. Hoeksema providing orthopedic services.
