Laurie Walsworth-LeMieux, M.A., P.T.A.
Laurie, a native of Muskegon, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and a minor in Communications and Public Relations from Grand Valley State University in 1988. She worked as a Graduate Assistant while earning a Master of Arts degree in Exercise Science at Western Michigan University in 1991. Laurie earned an Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 1994 from Baker College.
Laurie joined the Hackley Rehab & Sports Medicine staff in 1994. She has completed additional coursework in Aquatherapy and is responsible for the treatment and rehabilitation of patients at the Hackley Rehab and Aquatic Therapy Center.
Laurie is a competitive triathlete and cyclist who competes in events nationwide. She placed 10th in her division at the USA triathlon National Championships at Kansas City in July 2006. She has qualified for the World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland in September 2006. She has 3 national medals in cycling, all from time-trialing. Laurie was the top ranked Michigan triathlete in her age group in 2004, as named by the Mideast Region of the United States Triathlon Federation. She competes primarily in sprint events.
Laurie resides in North Muskegon with her husband Dave LeMieux and their big black cat, Eddie. Her hobbies include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, running, and hiking in the mountains out West. Laurie's favorite hobby is traveling. With her interests and vast experience in sports, health and fitness, Laurie is a vital part to our Rehab & Sports Medicine staff.
