Behavioral Health
Introduction
The Adult and Geriatric Inpatient Program at Hackley Behavioral Health is designed to stabilize the crisis that led to hospitalization, provide a thorough evaluation, develop a treatment plan and coordinate care in a supportive environment with 24-hour nursing care. Our Adult Inpatient Program accepts people over the age of 18 and our Geriatric Inpatient Program accepts people over the age of 62. Ancillary services of other hospital departments are utilized when needed for the benefit of the patient's health.
The Partial Hospitalization Program is designed to provide intensive outpatient therapy to adults 18 and older who are experiencing emotional and mental distress but do not require 24-hour inpatient care and have an adequate support system outside the hospital setting.
Half of all Americans will experience a mental illness during their lifetime. Mental or emotional problems affect all aspects of our lives. Individuals may become so overwhelmed that they cannot function day-to-day. Signs and symptoms that individuals exhibit may include one or more of the following:
- Suicidal behavior and/or threats
- Assaultive behavior
- Sleep or eating disturbances
- Severe agitation
- Medication noncompliance
- Severe mood swings
- Excessive and uncontrolled anger
- Hearing voices
Most depression and other emotional illnesses are treatable, especially if dealt with early. In addition to improving one's outlook on life, therapy also helps individuals to better care for themselves and follow their primary care provider's directions, particularly with regards to taking medications.
Hackley Behavioral Health is here to let you know that you are not alone in caring for your loved one. We help you understand what's going on and determine the best course of care.
