Breast Cancer Center
Specialty Center
Advances in technology, a dramatic increase in medical knowledge, and a variety of treatment options have made the management of breast cancer a complex process. As part of the Cancer Center at Hackley Hospital’s mission to provide comprehensive, evidence-based, and personalized cancer care, we have brought together a team of breast cancer specialists in our new Breast Cancer Center.
The Breast Cancer Center is committed to a multidisciplinary treatment planning approach, bringing patients together with a team of specialists to create individualized plans, based on current best practices, enhanced by the supportive services and accomodating individual life circumstances.
Deciding on the best possible plan requires the opinions of experts in their fields, working with the patient and with each other. Not only do our patients get better advice, but the treatment planning process is faster, more efficient and sets our patients on their healing journey smoothly.
Treatment Planning
The Hackley Breast Cancer Team, which includes a Medical Oncologist,
Radiation Oncologist, Nurse Educator, and Plastic Surgeon, meet with the
patient on the same day to review findings, to discuss current treatment
options, and patient preferences, and to formulate a personalized treatment
plan. We recognize the importance of communication to patient care, and make
a commitment to support follow-up with Surgeons and Primary Care physicians
about treatment decisions. Our Breast Cancer Team will discuss:
