When Is Urgent Care Best?
Urgent care means services for medically necessary, non-life threatening medical conditions that require immediate attention as a result of an unforeseen illness, injury or condition.
It is not always easy to determine when you should choose urgent care over a hospital emergency department. The following list offers some guidance, but is not necessarily all-inclusive. Also, read "It's An Emergency - Don't Wait" for information about when you should visit the Hackley Emergency Center.
Urgent Care
- any illness or injury that would prompt you to see your primary care physician
- laceration repair (minor cuts)
- sprains and strains
- school and work physicals
- drug screening
- ear infection
- cerumen (ear wax) impaction removal
- infected ingrown toenails
- treatment of minor burns
