Expectant Parent Class

New responsibilities and new questions. That is what you can expect with your newborn. This course is designed to answer those questions and help you understand those responsibilities. You can sign up for either a four-session evening course or a weekend course.

We discuss a wide variety of topics to help both you and your partner:

A tour of the Family Birth Place of Hackley Hospital is included. You will also have the opportunity to review Hospital guidelines and admission procedures.

Class fee is $40 per couple. Medicaid accepted.

Breastfeeding Class

If you are considering breastfeeding, this class will help you gather information, work on skills and gain confidence.

Depending on the needs of class participants, topics may include:

If you have not decided whether you will breastfeed or not, this course is an excellent introduction and can help you make that decision. Dads are welcome, too.

CPR for Infants and Children

If your child stopped breathing, would you know what to do? Learning CPR techniques can help you save your child°s life. In addition to discussing technique and emergency scenarios, you will also practice CPR on infant and child-sized mannequins. This monthly offering is a non-certification course.

Sibling Preparation Class

When a newborn arrives in your home, you won°t be the only one with questions. This class is designed to help children ages two and older as they prepare to fill the role of big brother or big sister.

The class is offered one night each month. We recommend taking the class one month before your due date. Reserve your spot at least two months before your due date to ensure availability in the class.
