Sleep Disorder Center
Introduction
Hackley Hospital's Sleep Disorders Center may be what you need to get you started on the road to a good night's sleep.
If you are like most people, you don't always get a good night's sleep. Maybe you are worried about something at the office. Maybe a neighbor's dog has been barking since midnight. Or, maybe you suffer from a sleep disorder.
Tossing and turning all night or dozing off at work may not seem serious, but over 38,000 American die every year from sleep apnea, a sleep disorder that interrupts breathing patterns. Thousands more are killed every year in 200,000 sleep-related automobile accidents. Add to that countless sleep-related accidents on the job, and suddenly a good night's rest is a very serious issue.
What may be most alarming is the fact that more than 95% of all sleep disorders go undiagnosed. Fortunately that is changing. The Sleep Disorders Center at Hackley Hospital was designed to identify sleep disorders and to help patients receive the treatment they need to return to a normal, productive life.
