Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)

An obstruction in the flow of air means people who suffer from OSA literally stop breathing during the night. This interruption in the breathing pattern may cause them to wake up hundreds of times a night, but in the morning they have no recollection of these interruptions. The results of such a restless sleep pattern are excessive daytime sleepiness, headaches, drowsiness and irritability. Left untreated, OSA can lead to high blood pressure, risk of heart disease or stroke.
